Last Saturday in between a long day of working with Carly from The Bone-i-Fide Bakery on the next issue of The Bone-i-Fide Pet Journal (which is going to be AMAZING!!), I was lucky enough to spend a few hours photographing some awesome dogs at the Aiken Pet Fitness and Rehabilitation Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound awards event. All proceeds from the mini sessions went to the Aiken County Animal Shelter, and when it was all said and done I believe we raised nearly $170. Not bad for 2 hours!
The Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound program was started by Dr. Sybil Davis of Aiken Pet Fitness and Rehab and encourages folks to walk with either their own dogs, or dogs from the shelter. The goal was two-fold: to encourage more people to get out and about and moving, and to increase the amount of time shelter dogs get to socialize and be outside and moving as well.
The weather and turnout on Saturday was great! There were so people and dog pairs who came out for the awards, to see Aiken Pet Fitness and Rehab, and several people even came out just for the mini sessions! A big thanks to FOTAS and Dr. Davis for having me…it was a great time and I met some really awesome dogs and people :)
If your dog was photographed below, you can look for the full gallery to be posted by the weekend. Enjoy!
Amazing! I just don’t know how you do it. I called Fritz and had him look and he said “Wow, she IS good.”
The smiling lab, just below Alli & Coco is too precious! And it’s so neat to see other dogs we met Saturday. We even recognize a couple from the dog park!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!
Although I have deep roots in Maryland where I grew up, I am absolutely in love with all things southern. I live on a farm in a small town in South Carolina with my handsome husband, my beautiful step-son, our two yellow lab fur-kids, and three spoiled horses. My blog is a journal of sorts. It’s where I can share all about the things I love so much: my family, our life together, and of course all of the amazing and wonderful people and pets whose story I get to tell.

I love collaborating with laid-back and down- to-earth couples who appreciate the value their wedding images will have for the rest of their lives, and I believe in unique weddings that are truly designed around two people and who they are together. I strive to create images that are emotional, organic, fresh, and genuine, but that will remain timeless twenty, thirty, or sixty years down the road. I believe in printed images, developing friendships with my clients, and having a completely relaxed and enjoyable wedding experience. Each and every story I get to tell is unique and I truly enjoy sharing all of the little pieces that together form this beautiful relationship.
I am currently booking weddings for 2013 and 2014, so please get in touch below to start the journey of documenting your love.
Congratulations! What a wonderful achievement. Love the photos. They all look great! Can’t wait to see them all.
