If Kathy and Matt’s day wasn’t perfect for them, then I don’t know what would be. They were married this past Saturday at Rockfield Manor in Bel Air, Md. and planned this entire shindig all on their own. There were so many handmade details that I know they spent so much time perfecting, and I was so happy to see the day come together so perfectly for them. They are two of the most genuine, easy to love people you could know, and their day definitely reflected that. We had absolutely gorgeous weather, and Kathy and Matt truly enjoyed themselves with their closest family and friends. Thank you both for allowing me to be a part of it…it’s been amazing getting to know you two better and I hope that you are enjoying Punta Cana as I type this! :)

Kathy made these invitations and their save the date herself. As someone who tried to make her own wedding invitations and failed miserably (cough -me- cough), I was impressed…

Kathy’s pup Honey was the flower girl, so of course she had to get all dolled up first.

Kathy…whoa m’lady. You made such an effortless bride!

First Look time! Fortunately Kathy and Matt added a second photographer onto their collection so that we could capture both angles of this special moment for them. A big thanks to Nick for shooting with me Saturday!

A first look means bonus portraits and we get to take care of wedding party pictures before the ceremony, meaning much more time you get to spend with your guests! Obviously Honey was just psyched she had more time to mesmerize the guys with her incredible good looks and poofy tutu skirt…

Anyone who wants to debate that doing a First Look ruins that moment when the groom sees his bride come down the aisle should just take a look at Matt’s reaction…

Kathy and Matt had a surprise letter read dedicated to their parents and it was very emotional for both their mothers.

The new official family! I absolutely LOVE that Honey was included in all of the days festivities!

Not only was their Honey favor fitting because of their dog Honey, but Kathy also told me that they are buying their first bee hives and becoming bee keepers! I love that!

Although I have deep roots in Maryland where I grew up, I am absolutely in love with all things southern. I live on a farm in a small town in South Carolina with my handsome husband, my beautiful step-son, our two yellow lab fur-kids, and three spoiled horses. My blog is a journal of sorts. It’s where I can share all about the things I love so much: my family, our life together, and of course all of the amazing and wonderful people and pets whose story I get to tell.

I love collaborating with laid-back and down- to-earth couples who appreciate the value their wedding images will have for the rest of their lives, and I believe in unique weddings that are truly designed around two people and who they are together. I strive to create images that are emotional, organic, fresh, and genuine, but that will remain timeless twenty, thirty, or sixty years down the road. I believe in printed images, developing friendships with my clients, and having a completely relaxed and enjoyable wedding experience. Each and every story I get to tell is unique and I truly enjoy sharing all of the little pieces that together form this beautiful relationship.
I am currently booking weddings for 2013 and 2014, so please get in touch below to start the journey of documenting your love.
